What is Can-Ed and what Do We Do?

To be blunt, we help people get educated with certified courses to start working in the cannabis space.  At Can-Ed, we want to make it easy to get educated and certified to work in the cannabis industry.  We have created the world’s first cannabis education training app of it’s kind that fits in your pocket, so you can get the cannabis training you need on the go, at home, or anywhere in between.

Meet the Team

Dan Steneker

Mr. Daniel Steneker is a seasoned entrepreneur with extraordinary business skills developed over a lifetime of work in the technology, education, and business sectors. He established, advised and facilitated the creation and growth of technology and education companies since his early 20s. He is a technology entrepreneur with a significant amount of experience in developing electronically delivered education material.

Jason Sturtsman

Balance has been the key to Jason Sturtsman’s success, a serial entrepreneur who is presently the owner of Budtender Fight Club : Cannabis Education and Cannabis Dispensary Education (CDE), a cannabis business consultant, a manager of SSF Consulting, which is a member of a Nevada cannabis cultivation and production facility, and a previous owner of a popular downtown Las Vegas music venue, Beauty Bar.

Cassandra Mata

Cassandra grew up in New Mexico before moving to Las Vegas in 2001 and declaring it her home. As a mom of five kids and all the Can-Ed staff, Cass makes sure the office continues to run smoothly day-in and day-out. She’s the office mom and source of patience and positivity we all need during a hectic workday. For her amazing contribution to the Can-Ed team, we can forgive her for never seeing Star Wars. Cass is also an avid sports fan and loves a little competition with her family.

Holly Shan

Holly grew up in Cali before moving to Vegas in 2016. She’s not a patient but she knows the product. Her background in Graphic Design makes her a huge asset to the team because she creates and designs many of the features and images used in our products. Imagine opening up an app that isn’t creative? Holly could not process such an awful site. Aside from mad graphic skills, Holly is a mom, car junkie, photographer, and the best baker on this team.

Courtney Wehrman

Courtney was born and raised in Las Vegas. She’s lived other places but could never shake Vegas from her soul and always found her way home. Working in the entertainment industry for ten years as a photographer and writer, she’s seen a lot happen in the space. But she’s also been a cannabis advocate for 15 years. When cannabis hit the mainstream here in Nevada, Courtney saw her opportunity to jump. These days, as an avid dog lover and regular cannabis consumer, Courtney has the insider knowledge and technical skills to produce high-quality cannabis information that this team loves.

Katie Waechter

Being born and raised in Las Vegas and a medical marijuana patient since 2011, Katie’s seen how the Nevada marijuana industry has changed first-hand. She’s been writing actively in the space for over five years, focusing her expertise on cannabis marketing regulations and medical marijuana research. After recently graduating with a Master’s Degree in Information Science, Katie likes to catch up on all the Netflix shows she missed while relaxing with a bowl in her spare time.

What We Do and Don't Do

What We Do

  • Obsess over the latest and greatest cannabis products
  • Use Google Alerts to discover the latest cannabis news
  • Teach others how to work in the cannabis space
  • Help others find jobs in the cannabis space
  • Consume cannabis every day (well, some of us)
  • Have fun

What We Don’t Do

  • Sacrifice quality for quantity when it comes to education
  • Keep our courses the same year after year (regulations change regularly!)
  • Fax
  • Cut down trees
  • Resist eating cheesecake
  • Make learning about marijuana boring and dull (as if that could even happen!)
